October 8, World Octopus Day. Perfect Date & Day Synchronization. A Creature with 8 Legs is celebrated on 8th of October. Actually, if we observe it keenly, even October Indicates Number 8. Think about it.
If an Octopus has 8 Legs & Octagon has 8 Sides, Why October isn't 8th Month? The Term "Octet" comes from Greek Root Oct, which means Eight. An Octet is a Group of 8 People, a Group of 8 Musicians, a Musical Composition for 8 Voices or Instruments. Chemistry defines an Octet as The State of an Atom having 8 Electrons in its Outermost, or Valence Shell. Octane has 8 Carbon Atoms.
According to its origin, October, which we know as 10th month of year, really means "8th Month". In Ancient Roman Calendar, Republican Calendar or Calendar of Romulus, an year had only 10 months, excluding Winter Season, from March to December. The Extra Period between December & March was considered the Separation Between Years. Later, when Calendar of Numa, introduced 2 extra months, January & February to account for Days of Winter, October became 10th Month with its Old Name.
Originally, Months were named after Gods, Goddesses & Other Latin Terms & Numbers. Original Months are: Januarius (January), Februarius (February), Martius (March), Aprilis (April), Maius (May), Janius (June), Quintilis (July), Sextilis (August), September (Sept meaning 7), October (Oct meaning 8), November (Nov meaning 9), December (Dec meaning 10).
So, Let's Celebrate Octopus ๐, Creature with 8 Legs, on Day 8 of the Original 8th Month of an Year
